Circle Medicine: Why the Magic Happens in the Smallest of Spaces
In our modern world, we are often forced into "squares." We sit in rectangular offices, stare at four-cornered screens, and move through rigid, linear schedules. But healing doesn’t happen in lines; it happens in circles.
Over the years, I’ve held space for groups of all sizes—from intimate "triangles" of three that felt like a lightning strike of intensity, to digital gatherings of over 70 souls. But through all that exploration, I found a "sweet spot." A sanctuary. The magic of 6 to 8.
The Science and Soul of the "Sweet Spot"
Why this number? There are both psychological and spiritual reasons why 6–8 people create the perfect "Circle Medicine."
The Nervous System at Rest: For the highly sensitive soul (a category I proudly claim), large groups can trigger a "scanning" response—our nervous systems are working overtime to map the energy of everyone in the room. In a small circle, the "vibe" becomes legible. We can finally stop scanning and start landing.
The Power of Being Seen: In a group of eight, there is nowhere to hide, but also no pressure to perform. It is the exact threshold where we have enough time for individual processing, yet enough collective energy to feel supported.
The In-Person Resonance: While online circles served us when we were apart, they lack the biometric synchrony of being in the same room. Science shows that when humans sit together in focused intention, our heart rates and breath patterns actually begin to align. We become one living organism.
The Shamanic Truth: You Are My Mirror
One of the most breathtaking parts of this work is synchronicity. In the shamanic tradition, we understand that there is no such thing as a "random" gathering.
I have watched circles form where, through no planning of mine, every single person was carrying a specific vibration of grief. Or perhaps they were all navigating a transition in their creative lives. We meet who we need to meet because, in truth, we meet as reflections of each other.
When you look across the circle and hear someone else voice a fear you thought was yours alone, the "shamanic mirror" does its work. You realise you aren’t broken; you’re just human.
Holding Space without the "Hammer"
My role as a feminine lead isn't to demand, dictate, or dogmatically "fix" anyone. In shamanism, there is no single objective truth—there is only the exploration of your reality.
I see my role as the banks of the river. I provide the structure and the safety so that your emotions can flow wherever they need to go.
I will show you where to look, but I will never tell you what to see
I hold the container so you can be all that you are - excited, sad, messy, angry, or silent.
I learn with you. Let’s come together with a beginner’s mind, and then we will always have space to learn more.
And I heal with you. Every time I meet a new participant in the circle, I accept and love them exactly as they are, and a piece of me heals, too.
An Invitation to Land
If you have felt "too much" for the world, or if you are tired of the "dogmatic" approach to healing, there is a seat for you here. This is a space where your sensitivity is a superpower, not a burden.
In this circle, we aren't looking for a "right" way to be. We are simply looking to be seen, to be held, and to remember that we aren't walking this path alone.
Step Into the Circle
If you feel the call to sit safely in these circles with me, I have several pathways opening up to welcome you.
