In my years of shamanic work and cacao ceremony, I have come to understand that our relationship with financial abundance is rarely just about numbers or strategy. It reaches deep into our ancestral stories, our inherited beliefs, and the unhealed wounds we carry without even knowing they are there.
In this guided cacao and shamanic journey, I invite you to travel into the upper realms to meet your own Money Spirit Guide — the being who holds the map of your unique path to prosperity. Together, we will look honestly at the blocks that may be creating resistance, the epigenetic patterns passed down through your lineage, and the new story of abundance that is available to you when you are ready to receive it.
This journey can be done at any time of year. Whenever you feel called to deepen your relationship with money, with flow, and with your own highest potential, the spirit realm is ready to receive you.
Preparing Your Energy Field Before the Journey
Before we enter any shamanic journey, I like to begin by cleansing our energy field. This is not just a ritual formality — it is a practical act of magnetism. When we clear away the heavy projections, anxious thoughts, and stagnant emotional energy we have accumulated, we raise our vibration. And when we wish to call in abundance, the vibration we carry matters enormously.
In the ceremony, I guide you through working with the three layers of your energy field: the outer protective layer, the emotional layer, and the physical layer. Using your hands to gather the love and light of the heart chakra, you cleanse each layer in turn, offering any heavy energy down into the Earth. Mama Earth is a powerful transformer — she can turn a carbon deposit into a diamond. Trust her to do the same with whatever you are ready to release.
By the time we have completed this cleansing, you are as clear and open as you can be for this day — a clean vessel for whatever wisdom your Money Spirit Guide has to share.
Calling in the Sacred Directions with Cacao
With our energy fields cleansed, we deepen the sacred container of the ceremony by calling in the four directions, the Earth below, the Sky above, and the great cosmic realm. In the tradition I practise, we share our cacao as we greet each direction — offering the spirit of this sacred plant to our allies in the East, South, West, and North, and inviting their particular medicine to serve the journey.
The South brings us Mama Snake, who teaches us to shed the past as she sheds her skin — to release the old stories about money so we can expand into the fullness of who we are. The West brings Mama Jaguar, who invites us to face the shadows: the fears, the shame, the guilt, or the obsessive patterns that keep us contracted. The North brings Hummingbird, who reminds us to accept only the sweetest nectar — to raise our standards and trust the path we are walking.
When we call in these directions, we are not simply performing ceremony. We acknowledge that we are not alone in this work. The whole living web of existence — the plant people, the stone people, the animals, the ancestors, the star nations — is available to support our healing and our growth.
Journeying to the Upper Realms
The Money Spirit Guide lives in the upper realms — the realm of pure love, light, and higher consciousness. Unlike some shamanic journeys that take us into the lower world to work with heavier energies, the upper realm is an entirely safe and luminous space. There is no trickster energy here. Whatever guide comes to you will come with integrity and with your highest good at heart.
To ascend, we imagine our conscious mind as a small spark of pure white light, leaving through the crown chakra and flying out into nature, to a place where you already feel connected to spirit. From there, you find your way upwards: climbing a mountain, ascending a tree, or accepting whatever gift the spirit realm offers to help you rise. When you pop through the boundary layer into the upper realm, you will feel the shift — an expansion, a lightness, a sense of vast and infinite space.
I always say: I will show you where to look, but I am not going to tell you what to see. Your Money Spirit Guide may appear as an angelic being, an animal spirit, a ball of light, or even in a cartoon form. All of it is valid. All of it is yours. Trust whatever comes.
Meeting Your Money Spirit Guide and the Questions to Explore
Once you have arrived in the upper realm and your guide has made themselves known to you, the real work begins. This is a conversation — a genuine exchange between you and the part of the universe that holds the blueprint for your abundance.
Some questions you might bring to your guide:
What are the blocks to financial abundance for me right now?
How might I release those blocks — is there a ritual, a meditation, or a healing I can explore?
Are there epigenetic wounds I have inherited from my ancestors around money that are ready to be healed?
What does it mean for me to be prosperous and benevolent at the same time?
How can I live in greater harmony and abundance in alignment with the new Earth?
The shamans I have trained with around the world are collectively teaching that we are moving out of a long period of darkness and into a new story — one where humanity remembers that we exist in a field of plenty, where nature provides, where we live in harmony and abundance with all our relations. Your Money Spirit Guide can help you find your own path into that story.
Closing the Ceremony and Continuing the Work
After the journey, take time to journal. Write down as much detail as you can remember — even brief bullet points will help you anchor the insights your guide has shared. There may be practical guidance to follow: a new mentor to seek out, a boundary to create around your finances, or simply a new perspective on your own relationship with receiving.
You might also feel called to create a money altar in your home — a small sacred space where you can continue the conversation with your guide. I have a Ganesh figure and a cacao guide on mine, alongside representations of abundance that feel personally meaningful.
When we close the ceremony, we release the directions and offer gratitude to every being who came to support us. Importantly, this closing also helps to gently shut down the expanded shamanic mind so that we can return to daily life without feeling flooded by information from the quantum field. You do not need to be in ceremony to access your guide; however, once you have made this connection, you can call on them in your daily meditations whenever you are navigating your financial path.
How to Prepare for Your Money Spirit Journey
Prepare a cup of ceremonial cacao or herbal tea to hold during the ceremony
Find a quiet, comfortable space where you will not be disturbed — seated upright if you tend to drift off, or lying down if you prefer
Have a blanket nearby, as the body often cools during deep relaxation
Use good-quality headphones or speakers if possible — the gong frequencies carry the ceremony and benefit from full sound reproduction
Have a journal and pen ready to record your experience immediately after the journey
Set a clear intention before you begin: what do you wish to understand, release, or call in around money?
Know that there is no right or wrong way to receive the journey — whether you see images, hear words, or simply feel a shift, all of it is valid
