Healing the Sacred Feminine

How Plant Spirits, Sound & Ceremony Help Women Reclaim Their Power

"They will call you crazy... intense… selfish… but stay firm in yourself and what you want, and I promise you one day they’re going to call you to say, 'thank you for existing.'"
— Frida Kahlo

There is a quiet revolution happening. It doesn't make headlines. It blooms in healing circles, in ceremonies under the moon, in gardens tended by careful hands, in tears released during sound journeys, and in the softest moments of self-remembering.

This is the return of the sacred feminine.

Many of us have grown up disconnected from the wisdom of our bodies, our emotions, and the Earth itself. Taught to hide our sensitivity, to shrink our passion, to question our intuition. Told that to feel deeply is “too much,” that our anger is ungrateful, that our dreams are impractical.

But the feminine is not here to be convenient.

She is fierce, feeling, and cyclical. She bleeds, births, nurtures, and creates. She knows. And when we heal the feminine within us, we don’t just reclaim personal power—we contribute to the healing of the collective.

Reclaiming Power Through Ceremony

In my work with women over the years—through shamanic healing, sound journeys, and plant spirit ceremonies—I’ve witnessed the profound transformations that occur when we allow the sacred feminine to rise again.

When we step into a circle of ritual and soul-remembrance, we stop waiting for someone to come and save us. We stop apologising for our truth. We begin to feel safe in our bodies again. We remember that we belong.

“I used to feel like I was always seeking permission - at work, in relationships, even in how I moved through the world. After the sound ceremony and plant work with you, I feel grounded and unapologetically myself. It's like some ancient warrior woman inside me woke up.”

The Medicine of Plants

Plants have always held the keys to feminine healing. They speak to our emotions, our cycles, our sensuality. They restore what the modern world depletes. Three of my favourites are outlined below:

  • Rose opens the heart. She teaches softness as strength, beauty as boundary. Rose reminds us that we can be loving and discerning. Her scent is a balm to grief, and her petals carry centuries of feminine wisdom.

  • Lady’s Mantle is the herbal embodiment of the wise grandmother. She gathers, holds, and protects. This is a plant for those who are healing womb wounds—physical or energetic—and seeking to feel whole again.

  • Nettle offers tough love. She is rich, iron-filled, and fierce. She strengthens blood and bones and boundaries. Nettle is for the woman who is learning to say no, to stand tall, to take up space.

These plants are not just remedies. They are allies. When we work with them in ritual, listening, invoking, drinking, and anointing, we open ourselves to deep cellular remembering.

"The first time I worked with you, we added rose syrup to our cacao during a New Moon gong healing ceremony, and I cried for hours. Not out of sadness, it felt more like a flood of rage tears was being released in the gentlest of ways. It was intense, almost painful, as I felt my feelings on a level I had not been able to for some time. Since having children, the birth trauma and the general demands of motherhood had left me numb both physically and emotionally, I was living in a survival state. I am not sure if it was the effects of the rose, the cacao, the gongs - probably all 3 combined- but after that first ceremony and a good, long cry, I actually felt beautiful, perhaps even powerful and a little goddess-like. I felt happy to be alive and a reawakening of my sensuality, I was comfortable in my own skin again for the first time since having children."

Sound & the Sacred Feminine Body

Sound is another language of the feminine. It moves through water. It vibrates our cells. It shakes loose shame, stuck emotions, and ancestral wounds. Gongs, drums, voice - it all bypasses the thinking mind and speaks straight to the soul.

"Thank you so much for your magical healing gong ceremony. I came with the intention of rebalancing my nervous system and hoped to experience some healing from the life limiting effects of PTSD. I got a much more intense healing than I could have imagined! The Gongs helped me come back to my body after years of numbness. I felt safe in my body, held by the Universe, like I belonged here again. Thank you!"

There is no one path to reclaiming the sacred feminine, but there are many doors. And often, those doors are guarded by the very feelings we’ve been told to hide: our grief, our rage, our longing.

But these are sacred. They are the keys.

🌍 This Healing is for Everyone

While much of this work speaks directly to women reclaiming what has been suppressed or shamed, the sacred feminine is not bound by gender. She lives in all of us—man, woman, nonbinary, queer, trans—because she is an archetype, an essence, a way of being.

She is the part of us that feels, that receives, that nurtures, that dreams, that surrenders to beauty and mystery.

To the men reading this:
You, too, are invited.
You, too, have been taught to silence your softness, to fear your intuition, to suppress your tears.
You, too, have a sacred feminine waiting to be honoured—not as weakness, but as your greatest strength.

To those walking between worlds, across spectrums:
Your very existence is medicine. You are already the embodiment of balance, of integration. This path of healing the feminine may feel like a coming home to something that was always there—fluid, intuitive, radiant.

The sacred feminine is not about becoming someone else.
It’s about remembering the parts of ourselves we've hidden, shamed, or exiled.
It’s about wholeness. And this wholeness is your birthright.

A Final Word to Everyone Reading This

You don’t need to be fixed.
You don’t need to become anyone else.
You are already whole, just waiting to remember.

Through plant spirits, sound, ceremony, and community, we come home. To our bodies. To the Earth. To each other.

You were never too much.
You were never broken.
You were just scared.
And now… You are ready.
Ready to be the fire, the water, the wildflower blooming in ruins.
Ready to remember yourself home.
